Dust Bunny Litter (current)
Jenna was contacted in May 2025 to see if she could take in a mama cat and her three hissy kittens who had been living in a barn. Jenna immediately and enthusiastically said yes and quickly turned her small bathroom into a foster room. The kittens went from hissy to sweet practically overnight, and mama was thrilled to be in a clean, warm environment. Though mama and her babies already have homes, we are excited to share the stories of Dust Bunny, and her kittens Lint, Speck, and Crumb!

Nora's Litter
Nora was found as a young stray already late in pregnancy. She was skinny, sick with a cold and terrified. The first week she was home, she began to feel safe and started to lay in the middle of our foster room purring! On April 3rd, 2024, we woke up to a squirmy, squeaky surprise— five babies! This is the story of Nora, Ronan, Callie, Jaeger and Streetcar.

Crabcake
Sarah was contacted by a kind community member living in Lowell, MA, who noticed a skinny, unaltered male cat who was running around the parking lot of her apartment and screaming to be let into someone’s house. Sarah drove an hour each way to save him in the middle of the winter. Crabcake had a blast tumbling around and tearing up our foster room (if you have ever had an un-neutered male cat, you know what we mean!). Once he was vaccinated and recovered from his neuter surgery, Crabcake was adopted at his very first adoption event!

Rollo
Rollo was one of the first cats Jenna truly fell in love with at Cat Tales. After arriving in a larger transported kitties, he was initially very shy and timid at the shelter. After a few months, he started to really come around show his silly side. Rollo would come running for his favorite people, rolling and flopping all over the place for treats and pets. After almost 2 years in the shelter, he’s found his forever home with Jenna’s aunt. Jenna couldn’t be more happy to get regular updates of her favorite Cat Tales baby and is so grateful he has found such an amazing home!

Rain's Litter
Sarah’s very first litter of kittens! Rain was found roaming the streets of North Carolina with her litter of 4 kittens and was transported up to New England by our rescue partners. The kittens were very shy and needed significant socialization. After dealing with several rounds of illness and not making weight to be fixed, four out of five members of this little family found their forever homes. We had one little girl left who was not gaining weight- Sprig. The smallest, shyest and sassiest of the litter. As our only foster for almost two months, she began to lay on her foster dad’s lap, sleep with him, and lick his face, while no one else was allowed to touch her. He decided that Sprig had adopted her, and she has been a member of Sarah’s family ever since.

Duck & Goose
Duck and Goose are both Jenna’s first fosters, as well as her first foster fails. They came to her home after a long and tough first seven months of life. After being born in North Carolina with three other siblings, two sadly passed before traveling up north, and a third passed not long after arriving at the shelter. Duck and Goose began having seizures, but were quickly put on medication, ultimately saving their lives. These two orange boys, then named Cameron and OJ, immediately stole Jenna’s heart and quickly bonded with her dog and other cat. After nearly 2 years on their medication, Jenna was recently able to slowly wean them off, and they are now 3 full months off of medication, and fully seizure free!
-
Coffee
Sarah’s first ever foster! This little boy was abandoned in front of Cat Tales in a box as a tiny 1 pound kitten. He was sick with an upper respiratory infection, so we rushed him to the vet for treatment. He made an (almost) full recovery, but we weren’t able to save his right eye. Fortunately for Coffee, this didn’t slow him down in the slightest. He remained full of exuberant energy, making quick friends with everyone he met and providing endless entertainment. He found his forever home after spending four months as our house guest, and continues his shenanigans with his new mom who loves him more than life itself!

Fish
After losing her childhood cat to brain cancer in August 2019, Sarah decided to stop by Cat Tales Rescue on a whim after work. They were not open, but the shelter director let Sarah in anyway. Just then, a transport van rolled in from Tennessee, and they worked together to unload the tired, hungry and scared cats and kittens. While unloading, Sarah felt a tug through the bars of one of the cages, and saw a small white cat pawing at her. She unlocked the cage and he LEPT into her arms, and began licking her face. The shelter director saw this play out, and said to Sarah “That’s your cat.”. We believe things happen for a reason, and the fact that Fish came off of his transport as Sarah walked into the shelter tells us that they were meant to be together.
